Sony said that the beta service will be commercially available to the users in New York City, Chicago and Philadelphia, before a nationwide release in United States by end of 2015. It also said that PlayStation Vue will run only on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles as of now. Sony had announced plans for its cloud-based TV service called PlayStation Vue in November 2014. PlayStation Vue will offer subscribers popular TV channels like CBS, FOX, NBC, Comedy Central, FX, Discovery, and many more through their PlayStations. However Sony has not been able to bring HBO aboard PlayStation Vue. Users will be able to watch live streams of the subscribed channels and also view episodes which have already been aired at their own time as Sony will save those episodes or TV shows on the cloud. Sony Plans to make at least 75 channels available to users in beta phase and the recorded shows will be stored in the cloud for 28 days before being erased. Sony has not yet divulged the pricing for subscription, Verge expects Sony to charge somewhere between $50 and $80 for the service. Sony has said it will eventually take PlayStation Vue to iPad and other devices in future depending upon the success of PlayStation launch.
